Jennifer and Jackie report on the State of Coffee during South by Southwest Interactive (SXSWi).
The Coffee Gals were lucky enough to go behind the counter at the Alamo Heights McDonald’s recently. Jackie was the brave soul who went through the process of making a hot McCafe Mocha. Enjoy!
Want to be a part of the coffee tasting? Then check out the live video stream on Ustream.tv of the coffee tasting. Join us for some high dollar coffee fun!
The Coffee Gals have a special treat for our listeners. We are pleased to interview Dustin Butler of Bantai Civet Coffee. Dustin shares the story behind the coffee that costs $320 lb. Commonly called “weasel poop” coffee, the real story behind the Bantai Civet Coffee is one of conservation of land, endangered species and successful farming for native tribes. Everyone wins in this story, especially coffee aficionados.
When Dustin was kind enough to donate a 4oz batch of this premium and high priced blend to the Morning BrewCast an idea was born. We knew we would have to record a live tasting of the Bantai Civet Coffee, so why not invite one of our listeners to join us for this special treat? We devised a way to make this both a fun experience as well as one that could benefit the Julia Campbell Memorial Park where the coffee is grown and “harvested”.
Win the chance to be on the Morning BrewCast when we try the Bantai Civet Coffee with Dustin Butler at What’s Brewing in San Antonio, TX.
For every Ten Dollar donation receive an entry for the opportunity to sit down and have a cup or two of the Bantai Civet Coffee (aka weasel poop coffee). Donations will be sent directly to the Julia Campbell Memorial Park where the coffee is “produced”. Winner will be announced Wednesday, June 3rd. Out of town winners will have coffee shipped to them and will be Skyped in for the tasting on Saturday.

We can’t wait to enjoy this special brew with you!
Cheers,

I did it! I found some of the Starbucks Water Soluble Coffee while in the Bloggers Lounge at South By Southwest. Look for a review show with the Coffee Gals coming soon. Here’s a pic for your viewing pleasure.

In today’s show we hear from Jennifer and Jackie as they join the “Live Show” circuit.
This morning we’re drinking a Kona Blend from a good friend who happened to vacation in Hawaii. We also discuss some of the recent brew given to us by @pandaran aka Luis Sandoval
Is the recession affecting your coffee? According to recent reports companies like Starbucks are feeling the pinch.
We discovered that coffee shops in the Netherlands are a whole different kind of place. Who knew?
Our Did You Know comes to us from our most trusted and reliable source, Mom.
Coffee Gadget: Coffee Cuff is as beautiful to wear as it is useful.
We also share some of our recent news:
•Jennifer didn’t just complete the 13.1 miles of the San Antonio Rock-n-Roll Marathon, she Tweeted, Uttered and Facebooked her way through it, too.
•Jackie was in Las Vegas recently and shares her Elvis experience.

The Coffee Gals take the show on road via Utterz for the 3-hour closing of Starbucks.
Our first stop is at Cafe Oasis in the Clear Lake area. Not only did the guy behind the counter know nothing about it, he actually had the guts to tell us, “Coffee is Coffee.” We almost walked out without our coffee when we heard that.
We did stop by 2 Starbucks locations to see if there was any mayhem happening from caffeine-deprived folks. You can hear our thoughts on the whole experience here:
Thanks for subscribing to the Morning BrewCast!
Cheers,
Jennifer & Jackie

Bau shares his personal coffee history and the story behind Compassionate Beans. We like his business model and hope to see more coffee houses go down the same enlightened path. Cheers to you Bau!
