The Coffee Gals have a special treat for our listeners. We are pleased to interview Dustin Butler of Bantai Civet Coffee. Dustin shares the story behind the coffee that costs $320 lb. Commonly called “weasel poop” coffee, the real story behind the Bantai Civet Coffee is one of conservation of land, endangered species and successful farming for native tribes. Everyone wins in this story, especially coffee aficionados.
When Dustin was kind enough to donate a 4oz batch of this premium and high priced blend to the Morning BrewCast an idea was born. We knew we would have to record a live tasting of the Bantai Civet Coffee, so why not invite one of our listeners to join us for this special treat? We devised a way to make this both a fun experience as well as one that could benefit the Julia Campbell Memorial Park where the coffee is grown and “harvested”.
Win the chance to be on the Morning BrewCast when we try the Bantai Civet Coffee with Dustin Butler at What’s Brewing in San Antonio, TX.
For every Ten Dollar donation receive an entry for the opportunity to sit down and have a cup or two of the Bantai Civet Coffee (aka weasel poop coffee). Donations will be sent directly to the Julia Campbell Memorial Park where the coffee is “produced”. Winner will be announced Wednesday, June 3rd. Out of town winners will have coffee shipped to them and will be Skyped in for the tasting on Saturday.

We can’t wait to enjoy this special brew with you!
Sunday Morning Coffee
Jackie and Jennifer were having a delicious cup of brew and chatting on a nice Sunday morning. So the desire to record hit. Thanks to the ease of BlogTalkRadio we were able to put a show out.
• A good friend of the show, Michael De Leon, sent us a link to the site, “Death by Caffeine”. We discover just how much caffeine it would take to kill Jennifer.
• Starbucks has created their own unique “soluble” version of instant coffee which will come out on March 3rd.
• We really like the Crop to Cup concept of creating a closer and more intimate connection between the farmer growing the beans and the coffee in our cups.
Jackie was in California and did not find a mom and pop coffee shop. She also had a high dollar no taste breakfast. Jackie may not be able to speak spanish but she can understand you just fine.
New voice mail line 206-333-0998 for your best and worst coffee shop experiences, your Dick and Jane stories and give us a play by play of the eye-twitching coffee drinker that should really give up the brew.
Jackie recommends the movie Kicking and Screaming coffee drinking segment.
Jennifer recommends the movie Fun with Dick and Jane robbing the coffee shop segment.
We are in training for a half-marathon in October. Part of the training includes coffee.
We think dieting steals the joy and that donuts should be part of marathon too.
